The Timeless Talks team earlier this month changed their logo to rugby boots, all in support of the springboks during the world cup. And various other big brands and companies supported the Boks by temporarily "re-branding"
This past weekend all hopes of winning the cup came to a staggering end, and suddenly we all felt lost for just a little while. But then you see New Zealand's Sonny Bill Williams hugging a distraught Jesse Kriel sitting under the goal posts. Instead of celebrating with his team mates, he comforted his opponent. And so the Rugby-Brand won.
We then remembered Springbok fans congratulating Japan fans when they beat the Springboks in a miracle opening match. And so the Rugby-Brand won again. We remembered video clips of South Africans singing the SA anthem in trains, and yet again the Brand of Rugby won.
So now we hang up our rugby boots with our heads held high! Great full for sport that has the power to keep us captivated, so that as a world, as a country, as a community, as a brand, we can be united. Win or loose, how we act afterwards is what make us winners. We now proudly put on our flip-flops and eagerly await summer in South Africa!
